Change

I'm on my new Samsung netbook!! My p.o.s. Sony Viao can't be unplugged or it dies, so when I get back to school I'll be using it as a desktop and this will be my lap top.

So, yesterday I was talking to my Mom about what I'm going to do with my life. I'm having second thoughts about a career working with children. I love kids, and kids love me, but I'm not so sure I want to work with them anymore. Its like I used to play teacher when I was younger and got it in my head that's what I wanted to do and just stuck with it. It think I want to write. And to top it off, my fortune last night said "now is a great time to try something new" That's gotta be some kind of sign.

Its scary to think about changing my plans, but I guess now is the time to do it. I have always enjoyed writing, and I'm pretty good at it. My Mom has always said I should be a writer. And my Grammie has been reading my blog and says I "have a way with words". She attributes that to the stories she used to tell us. She used to make up the craziest stories, Gram if you're reading this.. write down some of the stories you can remember, I would love to have them.

I'm going to buy a lottery ticket today. Don't worry, I'll still blog when I'm a millionaire.

Blanket Forts

If you've never built a blanket fort, you haven't lived. I wish I was five again when throwing some blankets over the couch turned the living room into some magical place. My kids are going to have the coolest, most extreme blanket forts around.

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday

If anyone is thinking about taking classes from Richland, shoot yourself in the foot instead. It will be a lot less painful. After I waited for over an hour to see an adviser today, some girl came out and told me that the math class that I took at Texas A&M University doesn't meet the requirements to take a math class at Richland community college. And when I told her I wanted to talk to the adviser she said I could go to the back of the line and wait again. yeah freaking right.

All that crap almost ruined my favorite day of the week, comedy Wednesday. I live for Modern Family and Cougar Town. I missed last week though. My afternoon off tomorrow will be a perfect time to catch up. I will also be going like six assignments for my Econ class. Maymester is no joke, cramming a semester's worth of material into 2 weeks is a blessing and a curse. I'm going to take Oliver to the park tomorrow too!

Tonight was yoga for p90x. So far its the only work out I didn't finish. I am the most inflexible person in the world. And throw in my back problems and yoga becomes impossible, comical even. How am I supposed to relax and clear my mind when I'm having back spasms and falling on my face. yeah freakin right, Tony.

It’s off to work I go...

I started back at my nanny job today. I missed those little rugrats! Its unbelievable how fast kids change. I was with them in December and since then they have grown into two huge, totally different kids. I barley recognized them when I picked them up today. After a snack we practiced spelling words and worked on a book report about Michael Jackson (Leah is his "number one fan"). Last summer Matthew said to Leah "you really need to stop with the Michael Jackson stuff, you're like possessed with him" get it? he meant to say obsessed. he is hilarious. Once he said, "check out the kajuzie in mom's bathtub" so cute. Anyway, after homework we played basketball, then tumble, and uno spin, and then watched an hour of iCarly. I have the absolute best job in the world.

P90X was awesome today, it was cardio and it kicked my ass. But it was over before I realized I was working out. I was so sore from yesterday! I'm talking the deep sore that makes sneezing the hardest thing you've ever done. I can already tell that Tony and I are going to have a love/hate relationship. but as he says I just have to "do my best and forget the rest".

Home Sweet Home

Who knew bordem could be so enjoyable? I've been doing nothing, and its been amazing. Other than sitting around, Mom and I have been shopping, almost every day since I've been home. My favorite past time.

I started p90x today. Surprisingly, I'm still breathing. If you haven't heard about this workout look it up. Its like the most extreme thing around. I'll keep you posted on how it goes, if I'm still alive that is.

Last night was fun, I hung out with Brooke and Ryan, and my long lost name twin, Jessica Bell. Actually, I really only hung out with Jessica and Greg's chocolate lab, Casey. We're best friends, and we had like a 50 picture photo shoot. Here are a few pictures from the get together. enjoy.

TWO DAYS!!

It seems like an eternity but in just two days I will be going home to my big house & comfy bed, good food and family, I will be starting my job again and laying out, and actually sleeping. I am so so so ready for a break from school. If I didn't like shopping so much, I'd drop out and become a bum. A beach bum wouldn't be too bad though. That's what I'll do.. go live on some beach, and make money selling sea shell necklaces. Although, nowadays I'd probably even need a business degree to do that.

Going home this weekend made my homesickness like 100 times worse. I only had to come back for 3 days but I threw a big fit like a 5 year old about having to go back. Don't get me wrong, I love living in College Station and being "on my own" but I just want to be home.

I went to dinner with Brooke on Friday and we started talking about how sad it is that our families go on living there lives even though we're not there. I know, we're really mature. I wasn't planning on going home because I had a final at 8 this morning. But on the way back from dinner I realized that I don't really care enough about school to miss Mother's days. So Jimmy and I drove home to surprise our moms. I didn't get home till after midnight and mom was really surprised!!

On Saturday, Jimmy and I sat outside and studied, it was perfect weather. Then I went shopping with my Daddy-O to get stuff for the big Mother's day bash. Saturday night we all sat outside and talked, it was really relaxing. Everyone came over on Sunday to celebrate. I knew I missed everyone but I didn't realize how much until after I saw them.

I guess I better go study.. for the one thing standing in the way of my beautiful summer. (said with the most resentment possible)

Procrastination

A common trait that I share with most of my peers it the special gift of procrastination. Give me anything and I will shock you with the length of time I can put it off. I've tried doing things in a timely manner, but its just so boring. Easier? yes. Exciting? no way. there is nothing like the rush you get when you're racing the clock to finish on time. yeah right

This is my latest excuse for procrastinating..

Its a miracle I get anything done.

Driving

I went home this weekend. And although I love being home the drive kills me. Its not so much the time that gets me, its the completely incompetent idiots who put my life in danger with their terrible driving. Here are a few things I encountered on my drive..

Improper use of the fast lane
For those of you who don't know, or are unclear about this.. THE LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING! it is in no way acceptable to go less than 50 mph in the fast lane on 45. where the speed limit is 70. On the other hand, there is no need to go 100 mph in any lane, ever.

Texting, facebooking, e-mailing while driving
This is so unbelievably irresponsible. I bet you think you're good at it right? You can multi-task? I'm sure every person who caused an accident with their inattention thought the same thing. And for those of you who think its just "stupid kids" who are doing this you couldn't be more wrong. You'd think grown people would have more sense.

Driving like an a-hole
When I'm trying to pass you, DON'T speed up so I can't get over. DON'T drive at the same speed next to me. DON'T ride my ass when I'm trying to pass another car & already going well over the speed limit. When you pass me, DON'T cut right in front of me so I have to slam on my breaks and then pass you.

Misuse, or no use of the blinker
People are aware that it is the law to signal when changing lanes right? I mean, its understandable not to use it if there is no one around you but when you're surrounded by cars, its probably not a great idea to just come into the other lane without a little warning. In addition to this, just because you have your signal on doesn't mean its ok, or safe, for you to enter my lane.

I've come up with some solutions to decrease the frequency of these occurrences, they include.. No cell phones in the front seat. Increase the driving age and enforce an age limit. Make refresher courses required. And most importantly include an I.Q. section in the driving test.
